May 1, 2026 Berklee Africana Studies presents the annual Gospel Extravaganza, a celebration of gospel music and Black sacred artistry. This dynamic performance showcases the depth, spirit, and global influence of gospel music across the African diaspora. A highlight of the evening is the Berklee Gospel Music Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, where we will welcome a new class of honorees whose contributions have profoundly impacted gospel music and its cultural legacy. This year’s inductees performing with the students—Ricky Dillard, Dr. Nia Allen, and Don Jackson—join a distinguished group of honorees including Karen Bell, MAJOR., Jerome Kyles, Bishop Hezekiah Walker, Kurt Carr, Dr. Judith McAllister, Dr. Teresa Jackson, Dennis Montgomery, Rev. Milton Biggham, Evelyn Lee and Mrs. Elta Garrett Together, these artists represent the excellence, innovation, and spiritual foundation of gospel music, and their induction continues Berklee’s commitment to honoring the voices that have shaped this enduring tradition.
